Our courses |
Our professional courses are horizontal, establishing an equal partnership between the participants, where everyone learns from each other and, in this way, creates new connections and knowledge.
Our ultimate goal is to develop a model of teacher training consistent with the latest advances in education by designing programs that are in tune with the teachers’ classrooms. This is how we foster the atmosphere of trust that enhances the acceptance of challenges in education. Ultimately, everything we do is designed to develop excellent educators. |
What do we offer? |
Professional Learning Courses
Our rigorous Professional Learning Coursesare based on the latest research along with years of experience in training educators. In all our courses, the participants will acquire tools and techniques that they can adapt to their own classrooms. The content of these sessions is defined by the context and needs of the participants. We design courses for teachers of bilingual programs and for teachers of Spanish as a Second Language. This is a list of some of the topics we have already developed:
In this type of training, a close link is established between the teacher and the trainer, which creates an environment of trust, where it is easier to introduce changes or to try new materials or methods. It also complements the implementation of dual programs. Academic Spanish for Teachers This Spanish course in academic contexts is taught in 10 sessions of 2 hours each and has a maximum of 10 participants. It is especially recommended for:
Learning communities encourage collaboration and provide a more efficient use of resources, both economic and human, by fostering peer training. These courses aim to facilitate the creation of communities in schools to give visibility to the teachers’ work, helping to create a space to share with others, to reflect, and to continue to innovate. What are our sessions like? The key to The Multilingual Classroom is that, although the sessions are based on extensive theoretical research, in practice they are precisely that: practical. The duration of the workshops can be from two or three hours or they can be spread over several days, depending on the teachers’ or group’s needs. The methodology is realistic and focuses on action, based on an ad-hoc assessment of the contextual needs of teachers and educational institutions. These organic sessions start from an outline but, by promoting reflection and incorporating feedback, they lead the group to determine their own path. |
What makes us different? |
The Multilingual Classroom is not a theoretical course although our programs are firmly based upon research in the field of education. We use the same techniques during professional learning sessions that teachers can use in their classrooms. Therefore, all our professional learning courses benefit both the teacher and his/her students.
